Time-and-materials work is a massive part of how construction and related trades run. Horizontal suites still rarely model equipment-heavy subcontractor billing end to end. A credible copy has to commit to that depth, not ship a lightweight add-on and call it done.

This isn’t generic punch-in, punch-out tracking. Rate sheets, job context, and LEM-grade labor, equipment, material, and sub flows have to work together for billing. Lightweight trackers can’t absorb that domain without effectively rebuilding the product.

Once crews invest rate sheets, projects, and LEM history in SubTrack, it functions as the operating system for how you bill. Moving that operational memory elsewhere is slow, risky, and expensive, so switching costs rise the longer you run on the platform.

The business rules sit inside SubTrack, and teams that bill here get time back, so switching stings. You cannot Google or ChatGPT what you earn on site: LEM revisions, renaming and recombining PDFs that still get declined, hundreds of T&M edge cases, and how foremen, PMs, engineers, and subs act when pressure hits, including where to give leeway and where software must do the work before code is final. The same foundations scale from small contractors to large organizations, with crews and PMs first. The logic lives in the application and a decade of scar tissue behind it. Good luck copying that.
