Paper tickets end up wet, folded in a pocket, or just gone. Billing data lived on receipts and sticky notes. Every piece of software I tried was built by people who'd never worn a hard hat. So we stripped out the bloat and built what field crews will actually use.

Our story
How SubTrack started
SubTrack started on active job sites. It comes from legitimate headaches crews face every day, not from people who never set foot on a worksite or shipped generic software from afar.
William Thibault spent more than a decade managing heavy time-and-materials infrastructure projects across Western Canadian oil & gas, earthworks, and foundations, working with teams like TC Energy, CNRL, Keyera, and Pembina.
Tickets lived on paper. Approvals bounced through email. Billing data sat on receipts and sticky notes. Every platform he tried felt built for someone at a desk, not a foreman in mud boots.
He teamed up with Matthew Swezey (enterprise SaaS engineering) and Jeandre Visser (product design and software) to strip out the bloat and ship field-first software crews would actually use.

The workflow gaps showed up on real oil & gas, earthworks, and utility jobs, not in a slide deck.
Built with supervisors in the loop
Early versions were tested with foremen and PMs who needed something they could open on site, not another office portal.
